Produced to meet a joint Anglo-French requirement in 1965 for a dual-role advanced/operational trainer and tactical support aircraft, the Jaguar has been transformed into a potent fighter-bomber.

A variety of weapons including cluster, free fall, retard and laser guided bombs, as well as rockets can be carried on the four wing and one fuselage stations. Two 30mm cannon are mounted internally. To mark targets for laser-guided weapons, the aircraft carries the thermal imaging and laser designation (TIALD) pod. For self-defence, overwing Sidewinder infra-red missiles are carried and the aircraft is fitted with a comprehensive suite of electronic countermeasures. Perhaps the Jaguar’s most impressive feature is its navigation and attack system. With mission data fed into the computer, all the necessary information for a pinpoint attack is relayed to the head-up display. From the display, the pilot knows exactly where the target is located and precisely when to release his weapons for maximum effect.

  2. Indian are big terrests all activities of indian army was to fool the world countries but could not do so. Gando vanay

    • my comment is for the man called vanday who said indian are terrorist.plz check ur english vanday its very poor.

  3. Hi,

Please remove these details, this is leading to unnecessary mess, Also you are not authorised to mention such things.

  4. yes,vanday you should correct your sentence……………

  5. Dear Vanday,

The world knows who are terrorists. You guys keep killing innocents in the name of islam for somebodies sake and benefit. Whenever you and ur useless country gets time sit and think whther prophet mohammed said anywhere in quran about bombing and shooting down innocent people for sake of islam…… you and ur country are a big shame for islam and good muslims around the world. You have not been able to make things in ur country good still ur interested in making comments on my country u fool…. atleast the quality of ur english u stinky rat….. We are proud to be indians and will always be to…….. we dont betray our country for billion dollars as u r country and government did…. see how many are dying in ur northern parts jus because ur greedy government went after americal dollars….. so Vanday first go and solve ur countries problems and then think about learning some good english to be in web sites like this brother……. 7. Hey dude, thanks for the info,
But do you have any info about the number of planes of each fighter aircraft ?
Do you have any information when LCA wud be inducted in IAF and the Indian Navy ?
Also you forgit to add the 126 MMRCA Fighters
And the FGFA Fighter to be added soon (2015 onwards) before the PAF FA

  8. i hope Mr. vanday got his answer…..thanx to all of u guys….

  9. the facts given above do not pose any kind of threat to indian forces as they dont reveal any classified intelligence.
these are only the general capabilities and features of various aircrafts inducted in iaf.
so take a chill pill. general features list is already available world over.

With huge number of combat planes but most of them are already old. But as they have already started working on this problem with 270 SU + , 300 T-50 , 250 LCA and 126 ( MMRCA ) & 200+ AMCA. Current looks it is seems that Indian air force is 4.5th generation soon convert into 5th generation. If everything goes right then within 2020 India can take the 3 rd spot in near future.

India airforce future looks bright unless they buy the best , there LCA program is still waiting to be finished but they have hope in next 10 years. They can buy russian , US , EU weapon system and they have money to pay , which can lead them to top if there are no delays otherwise they can plunge into deep dark valley.

    5th Generation Fighters

Sukhoi T-50 PAK FA Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA)

The Sukhoi PAK FA is a fifth-generation jet fighter being developed by Sukhoi for the Russian Air Force. The current prototype is Sukhoi’s T-50. The PAK FA, when fully developed, is intended to replace the MiG-29 Fulcrum and Su-27 Flanker in the Russian inventory and serve as the basis of the Sukhoi/HAL FGFA project being developed with India. As a fifth generation jet fighter, it is designed to directly compete with Lockheed Martin’s F-22 Raptor and F-35 Lightning II. The T-50 performed its first flight January 29, 2010.Its second flight was on February 6 and its third on February 12. As of August 31, 2010, it made 17 flights in total.Sukhoi director Mikhail Pogosyan has projected a market for 1,000 aircraft over the next four decades, which will be produced in a joint venture with India, two hundred each for Russia and India and six hundred for other countries. He has also said that the Indian contribution would be in the form of joint work under the current agreement rather than as a joint venture. The Indian Air Force will “acquire 50 single-seater fighters of the Russian version” before the two seat FGFA is developed. The Russian Defense Ministry will purchase the first ten aircraft after 2012 and then 60 after 2016. The Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA), formerly known as the Medium Combat Aircraft (MCA), is a twin-engined 5th generation stealth multirole fighter being developed by India. It will complement the HAL Tejas, the Sukhoi/HAL FGFA, the Sukhoi Su-30MKI and the yet undecided MRCA in the Indian Air Force. The main purpose of this aircraft is to replace the aging SEPECAT Jaguar & Dassault Mirage 2000. The Medium Combat Aircraft [MCA] is envisioned as a replacement for the British Jaguar and Mirage 2000 the IAF flies, which as of 2002 were to be phased out by 2015. Development costs were expected to be over US $2 billion. At that time, India’s DRDO intended to develop a stealth Medium Combat Aircraft, a further extension of its LCA design, in order to replace the Jaguar and Mirage inventory beginning around 2010.The MCA designers plan to pursue technologies superior to anything currently on offer. India’s aeronautical designers see the MCA programme as crucial for taking forward the expertise that has been painstakingly accumulated in the Tejas LCA programme.
